Privacy Policy

Tauqeet is built to need as little of your information as possible. There is no account to create, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or tracking of any kind. This policy explains the few cases where data does leave your device, and why.

Location

Tauqeet uses your location to calculate prayer times and the direction of the Qibla. If you grant location access, your coordinates are used on your device to perform those calculations. You can also choose a city manually instead of granting location access.

Your location is not sold, shared for advertising, or used to build a profile.

Live Activities and reminder notifications

If you turn on Live Activities — the countdown that appears on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island as a prayer window draws to a close — Tauqeet must schedule those alerts from a server, because the exact times differ by place and date. When the feature is enabled, the app sends the following to our backend, hosted on Google Firebase:

• your coordinates and time zone, so the correct prayer times can be computed;
• an Apple push notification token and Live Activity token, so the alert can reach your device;
• your reminder preference, such as how many minutes before the end of a prayer window you wish to be notified.

This record is associated with an anonymous identifier generated on your device. It is not linked to your name, email address, Apple Account, or any other identity, and we cannot use it to identify you.

If you turn Live Activities off, the app stops sending this information and the scheduled alerts are cancelled. Records belonging to devices that have been inactive for 30 days are deleted automatically.

iCloud sync

Your saved places and settings sync through your own private iCloud database, using Apple's CloudKit. That data lives in your Apple Account and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We cannot read it.

Place name lookups

Tauqeet works offline. If you search for a city, or if the app needs to refine a place name in a remote area, a lookup request may be sent to Apple's location services. These requests are handled by Apple under its own privacy policy.

What we do not do

• We do not show advertisements.
• We do not use analytics, attribution, or tracking SDKs.
• We do not sell or share your personal information.
• We do not ask you to create an account or provide your name or email address.

Children

Tauqeet is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can revoke location access at any time in the iOS Settings app, and you can turn Live Activities and reminders off inside Tauqeet. To request deletion of the data associated with your device, contact us at the address below and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
